The Jacksonville Police Department is proud to offer the Citizen's Police Academy to members of our community.  The goal of the Citizen's Police Academy is not only to help local residents better understand police work, but also to develop stronger ties between the community and the Jacksonville Police Department.

The Citizen's Police Academy is an twelve-week program offered in the spring, with classes being held on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., at the Municipal Building, 200 West Douglas Avenue.  Each evening of instruction will cover different aspects of the law enforcement profession.

There is no charge for participation.  Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, reside or work within Morgan County, possess a valid drivers license, have no felony convictions within the past 10 years.  Anyone interested in participating in the Citizen's Police Academy my fill out the attached application and return it to the Jacksonville Police Department.
