The Jacksonville Fire dept. is prepared to respond to various types of events and threats to our community and its citizens. The Jacksonville Fire Dept. is also proactive in our efforts and through our prevention and education programs.

Programs Available:

Fire Safety House; Valuable tool teaching children fire escape methods

Fire Pup program; Community sponsored programs teaching fire safety to all public and private schools in the Jacksonville Area reaching all K through 4 grade students.

Fire safety presentations; pre-school through to the collegiate level

Fire extinguisher classes

Free smoke detector program; this program provides smoke detectors free of charge to those who would not be able to afford them or those who are home bound. Program is available to single and two family (duplex) dwellings.

Coming in 2018

Community CPR and AED classes; this pilot program is scheduled to begin in early 2018, offerings will be held once a month on a weeknight at the Municipal Building. Watch for further details.

 The youth of our community are the most vulnerable segment of our population and by reaching them at an early age; hopefully, a tragedy will be prevented now and in the future.
